ProjectProject Overview

Located in Dhaka, the Mobil House building serves as the head office of MJL Bangladesh Limited. It is a LEED Platinum certified building covering an area of 6,673 square meters and was completed in October 2019.Designed by Vistaara Architects Pvt Ltd, the building features office spaces, meeting areas, and conference halls. Its sustainable design includes sizable courtyards and building cut-outs that are populated with foliage and vertical gardens, providing a natural ambiance for occupants to work and relax in.

The building's sustainability goals were achieved through an integrative approach involving all key contributors such as clients, architects, engineers, energy specialists, and green building consultants from the early design stage until post-occupancy. The project achieved its sustainability goals while ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The building uses 30% less energy and 50% less water compared to conventional office buildings in the region, making it a benchmark for sustainable design practices in Bangladesh.

The Mobil House building is not only a functional office space but also a testament to sustainable design practices in the region. Our company is responsible for providing equipment and on-site installation guidance for the staff kitchen project in this building.

ProjectThe Challenge

As a supplier for the staff kitchen in the Mobil House building, there are several challenges that we may encounter. Firstly, we need to ensure that the equipment and supplies we provide meet the unique requirements of the building's sustainable design. This means that we must source eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient appliances to align with the building's overall vision.

Secondly, as with any commercial kitchen project, we need to consider space limitations and layout efficiency. We must work closely with the building's architects and engineers to create a kitchen design that maximizes the available space while maintaining flow and functionality.

Thirdly, as the building is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, we must take into account the local climate and availability of resources when sourcing materials and equipment. We must also consider the cultural norms and food preferences of the kitchen's users when selecting cooking equipment and supplies. However, with our expertise and commitment to quality, we are confident that we can provide a kitchen that aligns with the building's vision and meets the needs of its users.

ProjectThe Solution

For the staff kitchen in the Mobil House building, our design prioritizes efficient use of space and modern technology. We have included ample storage space for food, cooking equipment, and utensils to ensure that the kitchen remains organized and tidy at all times. To cater to the diverse culinary preferences of the staff, we have designed separate sections for each type of cuisine being served, allowing the kitchen team to prepare and cook meals with ease and efficiency. The sections include designated areas for Western Delicacies and Asian Cuisine, ensuring that the food is prepared to perfection. We understand the importance of a comfortable working environment for the kitchen staff, and therefore, we have incorporated a proper ventilation system into the design. This will ensure that the air quality within the kitchen remains fresh and clean, creating a pleasant and healthy workspace for the staff.
